Greek food, thats what my pregnant friend wanted to eat. Her third one is on the way and yap, finally a Boy :).
I did the usual traditional meze ( greek for apetizers, this time without the ouzo though 🙂 ) following an ovenroasted chicken&potato dish ( find the chicken recipe under greek recipes ). I did most things from scratch, I can make all from scratch but havent had enough time due to that I am working on another project in our garage, yes, yes I will post some pictures, so I went to the turkish market across the street and got me some help. I bought Eggplant babaganuss in greek melitzanosalata, olives ( couldnt fly to greece to get them off the trees in kalamata lol ) and the beans, sardines, stuffed grape leaves and octopus. Although I have to say Ill never buy canned octopus again, it was OKAY, but mine is way better. Our american friends loved the food and did not want to leave :).
Attention…. one more thing, if you are on a diet, this food is not fat free 😉

Tirokafteri ( spicy goat cheese spread )

I blended 250 gr of feta cheese along with a little cream and 2 cherry tomatoes. the cream makes the spread creamier. added 1 tsp of crushed red peppers for heat, you can add more if you like it spicier

I blend it to almost done and then mash the remaining pieces with my fork, I want to see the cheese a little and dont really want to make cream cheese out of it
Tiganites Piperies ( fried peppers )

cut the stem and slice the peppers in the middle, that prevents them from popping while frying them and get hot oil everywhere

this is what you want them to look like
