Kaesebrezel or Cheeseprezel
Have you ever had one of those? Out of all the breads and pastrys at the german bakerys THIS is MY favorite, kasebrezel. One day I wanted to have some but it was a sunday and there are no bakerys open on Sunday in Germany, ( well there is some but it was past 11 am and the one bakery that was open closes at 11 am :-/ ) so I had to improvise and make myself some cheesebrezels, I knew I had some frozen brezels in the freezer, so I took those out and threw some cheese on there to see what happens, and voila, perfect semi homemade cheesebrezel. For the ones I leave plain, I wet a brush a little and brush some water moisture over them and sprinkle sea salt. I dont have to thow the brezels in order for them to cook right and the cheese to stick or anything. I place the frozen brezels on a pan with parchment paper then add any cheese slices I have in the fridge and bake for 15 min in 350 degrees or until golden brown. Today I made those brezels for our play date and the mommas :). I always have to have something in the house to offer to my guests, thats how my momma taught me.
My daughter Zoe, my husband Jason and myself love those. I never buy cheesebrezels from the bakery again, and prep those whenever we have planned a day out with Zoe so she can eat something whenever she gets hungry and of course me too :).
Do, try this at home.
XO Katy

place the frozen brezels in a pan with parchment paper, please ignore the broken one lol.Can happen when you are greedy to get them fast in the oven lol.

place the cheese on top like so, for the ones with no cheese simply wet them and sprinkle some sea salt.

im using Gouda cheese and Tilsiter I believe but I always buy the 4 variaty cheese package from Aldi-Kase Aufschnitt, the blue package
