So, I had this ocra can from the turkish market in my pantry for a while, but forgot all about it since my husband is not an Ocra fan ( after today he is though ).
So here is a quick recipe on how I prepare my Ocra, in Greece we usually eat it as a stew. Below my fast and delicious recipe. You have to give it a try and let me know how it turned out.
Kali Oreksi
- one can ocra
- salt & pepper as deisred
- one whole tomatoe
- 2 tbs rapeseed oil ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapeseed#Health_effects )
- 3 medium potatoes
- water to cover the potatoes
- 3 bay leaves
- 2 tsp tomato paste

the right can is the ocra can lol 🙂 Please look up my greek bean sidedish recipe on my blog

add 2 tbs of rapeseed oil (rich in vitamins, german doctor recommend this oil for pregnant woman ) add water to almost cover the potatoes

Bring to a broil and let is simmer on medium for 45 minutes, add more water if needed until potatoes cook fully . Add salt as deisred, mash ocra and tomoatoe a little for the seeds to come out, I used a spoon .Voila
